#BeTheInfinite
A phone launch usually comes down to a list of numbers, the chip, the camera, the battery, in that order every time. #BeTheInfinite wanted to be bigger than that, a launch about ambition and pushing your own limits rather than the hardware. OPPO built it around MS Dhoni and the main film. The tricky bit with a theme that big is keeping the actual phone in the story at all, because a launch can get so busy being inspiring that it forgets there is a product to sell, and one that only sells the product was never going to inspire anyone anyway.
The part I worked on sat right on that seam, writing scripts that let real people tell their own version of pushing a limit while the product stayed in frame for a reason. Virender Sehwag and Mayanti Langer, among others, each came with a story that actually fit the idea, people who had spent careers being told where their limits were and ignoring the memo. The concept was a shared effort with the OPPO side, and my job was to make each script sound like the person saying it rather than the brand behind them, and to earn the phone a place in the story instead of taping it on at the end.
That is the whole trick with product-led storytelling. A phone parked next to an inspiring line convinces nobody, but a phone that belongs inside a story you are already believing sells itself without a sales voice. Mayanti Langer's film alone crossed past 165,000 views, and the ones that worked all did the same thing, kept the person in the foreground and let the Reno4 Pro be part of how they got there, not the reason the video existed.
